Bier Distillery is hoping to allow runners to have fun while competing on the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail while helping to collect food items for the non-profit Hand 2 Hand.
The new chip-timed 5K and self-timed 1-mile run feature a traffic-free certified course on the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail. Sponsor Bier Distillery is located in Comstock Park.
The organizers of the event hope to collect at least 500 food items for Hand 2 Hand, which feeds some 4,000 children in 112 school districts in West Michigan.
The 5K and 1-mile run will be held at 11 a.m. on May 6 on the White Pine Trail in Comstock Park.
Race organizers encourage participants to bring at least two food items per entrant.
