COMSTOCK PARK COMMUNITY CELEBRATION RETURNS

The Comstock Park Community Celebration returns, and organizers say it will be “bigger, better, and have more to offer families.”  This year’s theme is The Stone Age, and everyone is encouraged to wear a stone age themed costume. The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Friday, August 6 at the Comstock Park Library with a resource fair, ice cream, crafts, and a photo booth.  Community members will get a chance to visit informational tables where area organizations will have brochures and flyers about local resources available to the public.

At about 8:15 p.m. the festivities will move to Dwight Lydell Park for a movie, “The Croods: A New Age.”  Prior to the movie there will be a short dedication ceremony by the Comstock Park Downtown Development Authority to recognize the renovations done to Dwight Lydell Park, bingo and raffle prizes.  Participating organizations include Comstock Park Public Schools, Sparta Adult Education, Comstock Park Golden Panthers, Sanctuary Church, and Wedgwood’s Teen CHARGE.  This is a free event.
